VxI Power Limited acquired the intellectual-property rights of Morven Electronics complete range of products in 2004 when founders Peter and Janice Newland retired.
Morven Electronics Ltd was established in 1988 as a design consultancy for power conversion products and commenced manufacturing from its own facility, in Glasgow, in 1992.
The Morven range included off-line switch mode and linear power supplies, DC-DC Converters, DC-AC Inverters, battery chargers and battery-backed systems. Units are produced in the range 50 watts to 7 Kilowatts.
The company's traditional business was custom specials and the customer base included many top companies in the telecommunications, computer peripherals and professional audio fields, although the Morven name rarely appeared on the products!
The company moved to a larger factory in 1994 and again in November 1999, allowing for expansion of expand both the manufacturing capability and also our engineering department. Following a decision in 2004 to close the manufacturing facility, the products are now manufactured and supported by VxI Power Ltd.
